12. BAKONG TEMPLE:

The ad hoc group of experts appreciates the achievements so far and makes the following recommendations:

a) to study the buckling load of the column supporting the north-facing lintel of the northwest tower;
b) to consider how to distribute lintel’s load if there is a risk of buckling;
c) to examine setting up wooden decks as well as prohibiting tourist-off places to protect exceptional remains such as the moon stone step located to the north of the temple central tower;
d) to restore the missing part of the southwest library to reinforce the foundation, while respecting the existing weathering traces;
e) to repair in its current state the southwest library brick wall by applying an equal load to the entire wall when treating the cracks of that same wall.
