16. The Siem Reap river:
Encourages the provincial government of Siem Reap to continue maintenance works of Siem Reap River to solve issues of: 1) illegal construction houses along the river, 2) great amount of rubbish floating on the river, 3) inflow of a large amount of sewage into the main stream, 4) river banks left under tentative construction in part, and 5) no repair works continued in the lowermost reaches of the river, in order to create ideal water environment along the river;
Commends collaborative works between the provincial government, which takes charge in the lower reaches, and the APSARA National Authority, which has charge in the upper reaches of the river respectively in the improvement and maintenance of the entire watershed of the river paying particular attention to preserve the value of the cultural landscape and historical context of the river.
