The groups also unanimously recommended that the Siem Reap area be considered as a unique ecosystem comprising of the archaeological site, a rural locale divided between rice growing for the most part and complementary crop production, human settlements –from a town to villages, a geosystem of lake and waterways, and everywhere people. The focus cannot be only in the ancient city, but must also include today’s communities.
