22. PROTOTYPE FOR CYCLE PATH:

The groups of experts appreciate and congratulate the APSARA National Authority for having taken the initiative to design a secured cycle path for visitors and locals (in particular school children) and recommend:

a) to continue the implementation as put forward in this prototype, i.e. a winding path worked into the vegetation in place, reduced track width, natural soil materials (sandstone gravel compacted on a tamped sand foundation), random plantings of low-growing local species, along the path.
b) avoiding a uniform colour of materials for the treatment of the soil all along the path and the use of Corten-type steel (naturally oxidising surface) for the small blocking devices to prevent access by motorcycles at the start and end of the path or at road intersections.
