5.Western causeway dike:

a) The ad hoc group of experts expresses its satisfaction with the work done by the Japanese-Cambodian team in truly challenging conditions due to the level of water in the moat that requires continuous pumping even though there is a cofferdam in place;
b) it recommends the “L-shaped” concrete shell to be put in up to the end of the causeway. Also, in order to get the work on the causeway finished as soon as possible, the surface of the causeway should be made more even;
c) it approves the use of concrete reinforcement for certain laterite blocks inside the outer foundation of the causeway (a technique that has been used by the same team previously and was approved during the first part of the causeway restoration campaign).
