11 Northwest embankment of Angkor Wat moat
Sharing the proposal of ANA, the ad hoc group of experts for conservation recommends that:
a) a foundation laying plan be prepared;
b) a substructure be put in, about 80 cm thick on four levels (from the bottom: i) stone, ii) sand, iii) compacted clay mortar, laterite and lime powder, iv) compacted laterite fragments);
c) the layers of laterite blocks be laid, replacing the worn ones with new ones;
d) sandstone blocks be installed, consolidating the fractured ones or replacing them with new ones;
e) as was requested, the blocks piled up next to the trees during previous operations can be used on this site, when they are re-useable.
