  1. Based on the report from Mr. Azedine Beschaouch, moderator of the Symposium on the Bayon, the Committee adopted the three following recommendations:
  • Hold a second symposium in order to complement the reflections and analyses initiated,
  • See to it that the options proposed by the JSA team be an important element in consideration to the restoration of the Bayon but also of other monuments,
  • Pay tribute to the willingness to internationalize research, as well as the genuine international co-operation that exists at Angkor (as observed at the symposium), and also promote as an example the willingness of a country (i.e. Japan) to involve international experts in defining its activities on the site.
