3. Heritage Police activities

Colonel TAN Chay presented the unit’s annual report and called on the audience to consider the following needs from the heritage police:

• Radios
• Guardhouse
• Transport
• Medicines

BESCHAOUCH stepped in to ask the Colonel what were, in this key area, his plans to improve the view and access to the site (i.e. the road from the airport to Angkor Vat forecourt) given that many observers unfortunately noticed a certain chaos and several illegal constructions.

The ICC is offering assistance to the police to ensure that while social order is preserved de facto situations do not hinder the implementation of the project for safeguarding and rehabilitation, and ultimately development of the site.
