  • It is recommended to raise the level of the “stopgate” to achieve complete drainage of the proposed area for intervention;
  • After documentation and numbering, it is recommended to disassemble the blocks from the wharf and analyze the soil underneath since localized drilling cannot provide all the necessary information to replace them in their original location;
  • Given that the wharf was restored about fifty years ago, it is recommended to analyze the cement slab that has been used for support;
  • It is recommended to install an even base on which the blocks for the new wharf will be placed, paying particular attention to the new mortar filling of the joints. It is recommended to use a compatible mortar, such as bentonite, to ensure that the joints are watertight. The use of pins is not necessarily recommended in this case.
