Mr. Christian Dupavillon reminded participants that this international symposium, organized by the French Government with the support of UNESCO, was hosted in Siem Reap on June 28, 29 and 30, 1995.
It brought together over 75 Cambodian and international experts. The plenary working sessions and break-out workshops covered the following topics:

– Monitoring of the archaeological structures’ hydraulic systems;
– Monitoring of the farming structures’ hydraulic systems;
– Socio-economic constraints for water management.

The discussions following the presentations and the workshop break-out sessions, led to the submission of four main general recommendations and several more specific ones.
